Origin of sugarspin:
Sugarspin was founded in 2006 by Tania, Dimas and Nanda. Later on, Ridho (a long time band mate of Dimas) join to play the guitar and Erdien (a drummer with multi instrument and vocal talent who plays for thedyingsirens and dzeek) to play the bass, but before sugarspin start their 1st session, Erdien backout and replaced by Ihsan who play guitar in Dzeek. Hence, Sugarspin 1st formation are Ridho (guitar), Ihsan (bass), Nanda (guitar), Tania (vocal) and Dimas (drum). After a few studio sessions Ridho resign from the band and Zara start to fill in the position of keyboardist. Later on Wahyu alias Acum came to replace Ridho and the band create their first live demo. On December 28th, 2006 sugarspin perform on their first gigs at thedyingsirens album launch at aksara bookstore. In 2007 Nanda decided to split up from the band to pursue her career in Art.
Our Members:
Sugarspin consist of six band members, they are: Acum-Guitar, Vocal (Bangkutaman). Tania-Lead Vocal (Clover, former bassist and freelance keyboardist for thedyingsirens). Ihsan-Bass (Dzeek, Otak and Chair). Dimas-Drum (Former drummer of Souljah). Zara-Keyboard, Tambourine, Backing Vocal (Clover).
Our Music:
In culinary terms, the foodstuff known as sugar delivers one of the primary taste sensations, that of sweetness. Therefore sugarspin can be defined as the sweet spinning sound of music that we create.
